Hello World
My name is Sebastian and I'm a Data Scientist
Sebastian Nagel
from in vitro to in silico
> whoami

I'm Sebastian — a data scientist with a background in molecular medicine and a strong belief that curiosity scales.

After several years in biomedical research, trying to tease out the secrets of cardiac regeneration, I went from modelling in vitro to in silico: Unlocking my passion for understanding data, I've been building AI systems that solve real-world problems — making expert knowledge accessible, automating complex or repetitive tasks, and transforming complex, unstructured data into actionable insights.

Simply put: I am here to build models that are useful, not just impressive.

I enjoy bridging the gap between scientific rigor and practical impact — and I’m most at home where complex problems meet clean code, and insight-driven decision making is the norm.

Outside of work, I'm an expert bedtime negotiator (although my daughter might disagree), an unreformable killer of IKEA plants (I tried, I really did), and a passable piano player.

Let’s connect and build something smart!
